Hundred Acre Play Care partners with the Get Kids Ready* program to provide a 4K program (4 year old Kindergarten), with a reduced tuition rate, for children that are 4+ on or before September 1 of the year they will participate.

In the state of WI, all 4K programs are optional and voluntary to participate in. Get Kids Ready is intended to be a continuous program and available from 2026-2027 and on.

Teachers: Our program is taught by Ms. Sarah, with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a state teaching license. Ms. Sarah has previously taught 4K in public schools and has been teaching in early childhood for 15+ years.

Curriculum: HAPC's 4K program is focused on social and emotional skills, meeting children where they are, and caring for children as a whole person. Our curriculum is emergent, play based, child-led and based in the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards. At HAPC, children are gifted ample time to choose their own activities and paths of exploration.

 

Class Size: Our group ratio is one teacher for 8 children of varying ages from 1-5. The 4K program runs concurrently and in the same group and space with all other children that attend at HAPC.

Schedules: Our daily program runs from 8am-4:30pm. Children enrolled in 4K must attend at HAPC at least 1 full day per week, but can attend as many as 5 full days per week, if schedules allow. We do not currently offer any part day schedules for 4K.

 

Tuition Rates: HAPC receives state funding to provide 437 hours per year of 4K care/programming to each child enrolled in the Get Kids Ready program. Families do not pay for those 437 hours of tuition, but are responsible for tuition costs for the other hours the child is enrolled. At HAPC this looks like a credit (due to state funding) applied to each month's tuition statement, lowering your overall costs of care. 4K hours and tuition credits are only available in our school year contracts.

Eligibility: Any child that is 4 on or by September 1 and enrolled with the Get Kids Ready program can receive our 4K rate, regardless of home school district. Children may enroll at 5 years old if they are not enrolled in a public kindergarten program. The 4K program at HAPC can be repeated as both a 4 and 5 year old- our open ended, child -led curriculum ensures your child is exploring the learning that is most meaningful for their personal development. We offer a small group size and enrollment is limited.

Calendar: The 4K program takes place during our school year program- late August- early June. 

​

Enrollment: Children that are already enrolled into care with us have first priority for 4K enrollment. Availability of additional spaces will vary from year to year. We recommend getting on our wait list to be notified as soon as we have openings.

*Get Kids Ready is a brand new program for the 2026-2027 school year. With new information from the state becoming available regularly, there may be changes to our policies as the program develops.
